The modulation depth can be entered in phase units (radians) or metric units (um or nm). If the user uses metric units, the energy results are for materials Fused Silica (for wavelengths between 0.193um and 2.2um) and Zinc Selenide (for wavelengths between 2.2um and 10.6um). The energy distribution in the orders from 0 till +/-5 is calculated from the modulation depth. For example, with the modulation depth of 3.14 radians one gets 2 strong spots as in our 2 spot splitter, 2.0078 radians one gets 3 strong spots as in our 3 spot splitter and 0.3155 radians one gets 2 sampled beams with 1% sampling ratio in each of them, as in some of our Beam Sampler products.
