HOLO/OR supplies for over a decade custom and stock Top-Hat Beam Shaper Elements that accept a
well-defined Gaussian beam, and transform this into a uniform intensity spot
in a specific work plane.
A uniform spot enables equal
treatment to a surface, excluding over/under-exposure of specific areas. In
addition to that the spot is characterized by a sharp transition region that
creates a clear border to the treated and untreated area.
HOLO/OR offers a large choice of standard top-hat beam shaping elements and is also very flexible
to tailor elements to very narrow defined requests of a customer. These are
available for Lasers from 266nm till 10600nm.
Diffractive optics opens unique possibilities
for beam shaping by redistribution of energy between the center and
periphery of the laser beam. The top-hat beam shapers are diffractive
optical elements used to transform a near-gaussian incident laser beam into
a uniform-intensity spot of either round, rectangular, square, line or other shape with sharp
edges. In order to gain a uniform-intensity light spot on a required plane
one just has to place a transparent diffractive optical element in the path
of the laser beam towards the spot. The diffractive pattern changes the
phase and as a result the intensity distribution changes within the spot.
The integral light transmittance of diffractive beam shapers ( 95~99%)
exceeds by far those of either slits-mask objectives or "gray-glass" bulky
lenses.
