Fiber Coupling

Diffractive beam splitters (Multispots) can be used for effective coupling of light from a laser into fiber bundles.
Use of Multispots can uniformly distribute energy into channels of a fiber bundle, improving the coupling efficiency. HOLO/OR released new Multispot designs in hexagonal of 7, 19, and 37 spots.

Typical applications of fiber bundles include:

  • Spectroscopy
  • Fluorescence microscopy
  • Particle detection scanning
  • Colorimetry
  • Illumination

A typical optical setup would include a Multispot and a lens, as in the below figure:
